We have stopped recommending HP consumer laptops because HP refuses to honor orders that have been in the pipeline a month! HP may not care about reputation but we do! We still love the HDX Dragon, even though it's now dead. All companies drop a model but most also honor orders they accepted money for and continue to promise delivery on. HP lied to us and to our customers, unforgivable.

As of 08/12/08 we purchased a second Dragon, 2.8ghz Extreme, 4gigs WUXGA, 8800GTS 512meg video, 7200rpm drives and Windows Vista 64bit THIS ORDER WAS DROPPED AFTER THEY HAD OUR MONEY FOR A MONTH. The new HDX18 does not live up to the machine it replaces, so we will not be getting one.

01/01/08 - HP HDX Dragon 20" laptop lap crusher with the following specs:
1st Dragon - Intel Core 2 Duo - 2.4ghz, 4 gigs 667mhz memory, ATI HD2600XT 256 megs dedicated memory, WUXGA 1920x1200 true HD resolution 20.1 inch display,  dual 120gig 7200 rpm hard drives, HD DVD / DVD burner with lightscribe, Bluetooth, Intel Wireless G/N & Vista Ultimate 64 bit Edition

Every person I have showed this system to thinks I'm crazy, it's too big! It's too heavy! It's more like a portable desktop than laptop! Well, to be honest, it can be a bit much to carry to work each day but its worth it! The huge screen matches my Dell 24" screen, its bright, fast and handles everything my business needs, except it might not fit on a plane. I'll be testing that soon.
